Safety Policies
Please read the following carefully and fill out the waiver below
Safety
Safety is of the utmost importance in the studio. Awareness is key. Stay aware of your surroundings and listen to the instructions you are given. The teachers are there to help you have fun while staying safe. If, at any time, you feel uncomfortable with doing part of the process, let the instructor know so we can adjust!
When working with hot glass, the studio is hot! If at any time you feel dizzy, weak, or in need of a break, let us know and step away from the furnace. There is water and soda available at the bar. Take time to sit down and cool off.
The process of working with glass is a physical one! There will be a fair bit of standing, bending, gripping tools, and hand dexterity needed. If any of these pose a barrier to you, please send an email to vitromancyart@gmail.com to discuss potential accommodations.
Be aware that depending on which type of class you take, you will be working with hazardous materials such as hot glass, sharp glass, lead solder, hot soldering irons, chemical flux, torches, and more. In the unlikely event of an injury, please let us know immediately.

Hot glass: Closed-toed shoes are strongly suggested! Eye protection is also necessary. We will have safety glasses on hand, but you may choose to bring your own safety glass, sunglasses, or prescription glasses. Please wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind sweating in. Tying back long hair is suggested for comfort.
Stained glass: Closed-toed shoes are still strongly suggested! We will provide safety glasses that can fit over most prescription glasses, but you may bring your own if you wish. Optional work-gloves are also provided. Tops with higher necklines, such as crew-cut t-shirts, are suggested. Please wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
